A Step-by-Step Guide to Starting a Social Media Program with Immediate Impact
Last fall, in the SMPS TC chapter’s November program, we outlined the very real reasons why your firm can’t afford not to adopt a social media strategy. Yes, even engineers. We talked about how social media is no longer a “thing.” It’s simply a definition of how the world communicates, and it’s changing our business world faster than we thought possible. Now that you’ve seen the importance – and how your competitors are seeing huge results – you don’t want your firm to get left behind. But where do you start?
In this session we’ll walk through a step-by-step guide to building your firm’s social media program. We’ll cover:
- The WHY – getting leadership buy-in before you start, and the best way to do it
- The HOW – involving executives in setting up LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram accounts
- The VOICE – determining the right voice and tone for your brand
- The STRATEGY – identifying how often to post content and how to use it to build relationships
- The SECRETS to success -- maximizing your efforts with a few tips and tricks on content has the most impact
- The BELIEVERS that make a difference – building employee and leadership ambassadors in your company (the only way to survive)
This is an interactive workshop filled with real examples and easy tips you can take back to your office and start implementing right away. Think you have a cynical audience at your firm who will be hard to convince to change? Bring them with you! Or at least come with your questions, challenges, or even solutions. We will allow plenty of time for Q&A and dialogue with the group. The best way to break through the barriers is to learn from others who’ve been there before.
