So, if you ever wondered how things work from the inside, come with questions; this is your chance to ask.

About the Panel

Bob Friddle, AIA, LEED AP, Director, Facilities Design and Construction, Property Services, City of Minneapolis. Bob Friddle is a LEED accredited Architect with 35 years’ experience in project management, planning, design and construction administration on a wide variety of building types and sizes, including medical, corporate, mission critical and utilities, most recently with RSP and Ellerbe Becket/AECOM. As Director of Facilities Design and Construction for the City of Minneapolis, he leads a team of planners and project managers, working with architectural, engineering and specialty consultants and builders to maintain, improve and sometimes replace the City’s office, fire and police departments, parking, skyways and public works facilities. Bob has Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin. 

Harvey Jaeger, AIA, Principal Project Manager Department of Administration, Real Estate and Construction Services, State of Minnesota. After receiving his Bachelor of Architecture degree, Harvey worked in private practice in Seattle and earned a Masters of Urban Planning degree from the University of Washington. He moved back to the Midwest and found a niche area of architectural practice, very challenging and professionally satisfying – working on behalf of a public sector Owner. This started with project management for the University of Minnesota and continued for approximately 30 years, including six years as an administrator in charge of system wide project planning. After that, he worked for the Metropolitan Council on LRT planning and has now been with the Department of Administration seven years. He has managed a wide range of projects, often with complex financing, high visibility, and programs that have little precedent. He enjoys helping his clients define their needs and working with them through planning and construction options. Finding and encouraging the best design and construction partners is key.

Marc Partridge, AIA, CID, LEED AP, Manager of Design, Capital Planning and Project Management, University of Minnesota. A registered architect and certified interior designer with more than 30 years of private-sector experience, Marc is currently creating an innovative Capital Planning group focused on planning, design and project delivery, with equal weight on design quality and construction. Marc earned a Master of Architecture from the University of Minnesota as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, cum laude. He is currently an adjunct design instructor at the University of Minnesota’s College of Design, and has been a lecturer at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and the University of Minnesota’s Compleat Scholar Program. Mr. Partridge’s work has been published in Inland Architect, Architecture Minnesota, and Progressive Architecture.

John C. Rode, AIA Sr. Facility Planner, Planning and Project Development, Hennepin County Facility Services. John recently joined Hennepin County Facility Services as a Senior Facility Planner in Planning and Project Development. His role will focus more on early strategic and master planning for the service lines which make up the government of Hennepin County. Mr. Rode has spent the past 20 plus years focusing on programming, master planning and planning healthcare projects for firms such as RSP Architects, TSP, Ellerbe Becket (now AECOM) and a firm formerly known as OSM & Associates. His role included providing business development services at every firm and while with Ellerbe Becket, he was instrumental in developing innovative approaches to healthcare issues with the end goal of selling more work. Having an owner’s perspective in delivering services to his clients has prepared John for his current role. He will use his strength in programming and master planning to give his team an option to help Hennepin County look forward towards facility solutions.

About the Moderator

Mike Headrick, Manager of PCL Minneapolis’ Operations, PCL Construction Services, Inc. Mike Headrick is the Minneapolis District Manager and a project principal for PCL Construction Services. He has over 20 years of experience, a BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota as well as a Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from the U. Mike possesses experience in all phases of the construction process, from pre-construction services and estimating to project management and close-out. He has earned the respect and confidence of owners, engineers, and architects through his ability to successfully manage projects and an unwavering commitment to client service. Mike has also served as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Minnesota’s Construction Management Program.
