About the Panelists

Karen Lu, Design Director & Associate Principal, Snow Kreilich Architects
Karen’s commitment to design excellence and to positively impacting future generations of architecture professionals and global citizens is evident in her professional work and service to the AIA and her community. She is a Design Director and Associate Principal at Snow Kreilich Architects, where she leads the studio's equity initiatives. Karen has led and collaborated on projects that have won National AIA Honor Awards, AIA/COTE Top Ten Green Project Awards, AIA Minnesota Honor Awards, and Progressive Architecture Awards. Karen has been recognized for her leadership both locally and nationally with the AIA Minnesota and National AIA Young Architect Awards.
Alethia Fowler, CPSM, Marketing Director, LHB, Inc.
With over 20 years of experience in marketing and management within the AEC community, Alethia Fowler is a Certified Professional Services Marketer and a Past President of the SMPS Twin Cities chapter (2007-2008). She is also a frequent juror for the Marketing Communications Awards. Currently serving as Marketing Director at LHB, the recipient of AIA Minnesota’s prestigious Firm Award in 2021, Alethia leads a team of six marketers. Together, they focus on building brand awareness, fostering client relationships, securing new business, and achieving industry recognition through award-winning efforts.
John Krapek, Education & Outreach Director, American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota (ACEC/MN)
John has worked in several roles advancing the engineering industry in Minnesota over the last two decades – directly for ACEC/MN since 2019 and previously on their government relations team in St. Paul. He oversees many key events and programs for ACEC/MN, including the Engineering Excellence Awards and Emerging Leaders Training Series. John also manages the scholarship program and fundraising events for the newly created Engineering Education Foundation of America, started by ACEC/MN to expand efforts to advance the engineering profession through charitable investments in workforce development and education. When not working, you’ll find John out for a bike ride or a round of disc golf, spending time with family, friends, and his cats, or baking.

Bill Gaier, Managing Director, Finance & Commerce
Bill Gaier is a Managing Director for BridgeTower media leading sales and business operations for Finance & Commerce and Minnesota Lawyer in the Twin Cities. Bill also leads similar brands in Portland, Oregon, Milwaukee Wisconsin and Denver Colorado. He has been with Finance & Commerce going on 9 years.
